1954 Conestoga Commander radiator

Postby Philip A. Douglas » 2009 Sep 09 Wed 7:44 pm

I am looking for a good ( or repairable ) radiator for my 54 Conestoga. I am presently in the process of installing a 259 V-8 in the wagon (which is a Champion). It needs a Commander radiator to provide appropriate cooling. Any suggestions where to locate one?
Thanks,

Have you checked a local shop? That's where I have the most luck with radiator issues.

If you want to keep it all stock (looking), then you need to hunt down a three row radiator for the right size tanks.

If you don't care about having a brass radiator, then with dimentions in hand, many alumimum radiator companies will put something together for you that'll fit.
Hell..for that matter, you could get a two row aluminum...and paint it black to appear stock..!

I'll be doing the exact same thing here soon (I hope) for my wagon. I'll most likely go with a two row aluminum and paint the top tank black.

Good luck with your hunt.
