A couple of people have said they needed this. I wonder if anyone can cast reproductions? I know nothing about it, but they cast repro items all the time, shouldn't be too hard.

This is easy to do and I even know of a guy who does this kind of stuff. I should say he did this stuff back in 2006 when I bought a "Old School Rod Emblem" from him. He was also interested in other designs other then his own.

HUGE PROBLEM. Who do you know that has this peice of script that is willing to take it off their tailgate and send it to a total stranger to make a mold of it ??
Other Problems. How much would this sell for?
How many guys are going to buy one?
Who is going to shell out the money to make the mold?
You would still need to get it chrome plated.
Would it be legal to copy?

Enough questions, I'm old and ready for another little cocktail and a nappy. HA!!!!

Good question, I've got one with two pins I might donate.

2. How much would this sell for?
This would depend on the guy making the parts. He'd have to make "some" money. First guess...$100/$150

3. How many guys are going to buy one?
I would...............

4. Who is going to shell out the money to make the mold?
Everyone who wants one.

5. You would still need to get it chrome plated.
Yep, see #2

6. Would it be legal to copy?
Um...Studebaker is out of business......!

Mike;

You have all the info I have on the guy. Need to Email him and find out if he is interested. Pretty sure he will not have them chromed plated as none of the stuff he was selling was.

Might end up being a double side tape stick on also. Need to ask.

So far, 3 of us are interested.

I know of a place in the South Bay that would proably do the chroming. The work will be good...they wont be cheap.

I'll post a note on the SDC sight and we'll see what happens there. See if we can get more that three or four.
Our Conestoga site has slowed a bit..!

Welcome tbest.

Mike...You gotta know that there was a time that I would have been all over this like Ugly on an ape. Took me 5 years to find the NOS one that I have now. Let me know projected cost of the clone as I may need a back up or two. May the casting Gods be with you.

Well...as some may have seen...didn't get much response from the SDC site.

Though Ed Reynolds said he'd be willing to do the casting for very cheap. I've been on travel for work so I haven't contacted him. If anyone else wants to...feel free.
I'll be on and off the computer for many weeks to come and can't be relied upon at this time.

I hate snow already...
Got snowed in for almost three days in Baltimore. Not fun. Didn't find any good looking females to pass the time with either...!!

Mike...It looks like there is even more snow for those same areas for the next couple of days. Be nice if that snow went to Vancouver for the Olympics. 3 days of rain in the forecast there.

On the female gig maybe you are just not drinking enough beer? :P

Keep in touch.
