Peterson Museum, Winter Meet

Postby Mike » 2010 Mar 13 Sat 5:30 pm

Well, my 54's been sitting long enough that it took me most all day to clean up. Fixed a bad fuel leak, swap in a good battery and a good washen to get it ready to head about 50 miles to the Peterson Automotive Museum.
Maken the tires somewhat respectable took the longest, well...along with replacing an AN/braided Stainless line from the fuel pump to the hard line to the front.
Supposed to be in the mid 70's. Should be a good day.

Anyone out here on the west coast going.
OR...IS...there anybody on the west coast..?

mike;

I'm here but not going to Peterson's. Only 30 plus miles SW of the Temecula Rod Run being held today and tomorrow. Have got our eldest Nephew, who lives in San Diego, and and eldest Great Nephew, who is in the Navy, visiting us for the weekend. Will take them to the Rod Run to see all the Hot Rods.

Have fun. Let us know how you did.

Nice day at the museum.
About 30/35 Studes and similar count of ....."Hudsons" of different versions. A shared event...

The current owner of the Burke Avanti (built for lakes/Bonneville racing) was there with the car and a Stude engine in place of the "original" 392 Hemi.
The "Twin" Stude engine is a street, twin supercharged 289, street engine out of another Stude guys car (Karl ...).

Met and talked to a bunch of nice people. I had not only the only Conestoga...but the only wagon.
Got there about 8:30, left at about noon.
The ol wagon made the (about) 90 mile trip without a hickup. No clue how close the speedo is...!
As is normal driving that thing though...the little carburetor...was fully open for most of the trip.

Al,

I'll see if I can find them on the site. I think it was on the general forum and had a lot of pictures of various cars.
I was kinda partial to the Conestoga though....go figure!

Mike, I love the back-up lights! I'm still looking for some, that and a visor!

Scott

Al,

Look in post titled, "LA Chapter Winter Meet Picture Link" in the general forum, page 4.

Thanx a bunch for the link. Sorry I missed that event but my "Connie" has been living in a body shop since November.

Today I am gonna take my 59 Silver Hawk "Christine" for her inaugural Spring exercise.
