Well ladies...........

Conestogaman......you owe me one!

I've talked with the owner of the above Stude.......it's on the way !!!
All I've seen of the car is the two shots in the add !
After talking with the dude for a while.....I just wanted to hang up! I figured...well, at worst, body parts for the car I have. At best, (after verbal description) maybe a replacement for my Lark wagon as an everyday car.

454, 6 speed trans. another quick change rear end........

Na......maybe the 259 out of my 60 Lark 2dr wagon. As Roger's seen, it doesn't need that engine anymore. Who knows, more study'en after it gets here.

Sorry if you got hassled. I shoulda put in the disclaimer...you know, "I don't know this guy and he's prolly a prick and prolly doesn't 'really' want to sell his car...yada, yada..."

Good luck with it and keep us posted...

Yea, the first phone call wes a bit strange.

I had a few additional questions, so I e-mailed them to him because he wouldn't give me his phone number!
Two days passed.....he called last night (01.02). Much nicer to talk to, much more helpfull (though still a bit "self indulged")...and he offered his phone number !!

He also offered for me to come out and take a look at it. I'll probably spend the 100+ miles (one way) to his place on Sunday.

Will let you know.........

Mike;
That sounds like the right place for that motor. I guess that will end the bitch'in about a "Studebaker in a Studebaker" from a few of the die hards. Ha.....
Now if it turns out to be a parts car ? Hum, wonder what you'll have for sale ?
Can't begin to tell you how glad I am that your buying it. I was trying my best to find a place to store another one without the wife knowing. Ha..
Good luck and keep me posted on how your doing.

Where is the news about that 54 Wagon for sale ?
Mike, did you go up to see it ? Or should I say pay for it ? Is it rebuildable or a parts car ?

No...yes.

No, had too much to do this weekend. Plus the damn rain.
We had a long talk about the dents, rust and missing parts.
Now I "KNOW"....that one guys reality isn't nessarily another persons reality.

And yes.....I guess I've bitten the proverbial bullet here and sent him a check.....
He's going to deliver it at a later...as of yet undisclosed date!!!

I know, I know, I'm really taking my chances here, on a lot of different levels!

I've had total strangers (whom I've never met) trust me with parts and or money....this is the first time I've gone this far with a deal like this....we'll see what happens.

Stay tuned.

Wagon

Mike;
Good Luck. Remember, " What goe's around comes around." So you should be OK. Hopefully the seller is a stand-up guy and has been truthful with you.
If not, find out where he lives and let the Conestoga Gods have mercy on his soul.
Hope you just sent him a deposit. If not, at least it's not like your selling the farm to get the money. I've seen guys spend BIG money for stuff they have no idea about. Ship it cross country and when they get it wonder what they bought. Ha....
You will probably be pleasently surprised and everything will be fine....

Yea, it was half of the asking price. $1250, it went out Monday morning.
Still a lot of money to loose.

I'll be like CM, I'll have a Comander and a Champian!!
I already know it's missing a few key parts.
The dash is missing the chrome bar above the gages that holds the switches and the radiator are two of the big ones.

The radiator isn't "that" big a deal, but now I need TWO of the bars on the dash.

Fix a few things and triple my money??????????????!
Put a Chevy in it and drive it? I am getting tired of all of the hollyer than though brand talk.
Put a Stude in it and drive it?
Cut it up and use it for spair parts?
Who knows...
Stay tuned.
