Hey Mike;

Cool picture. Assuming number on Windshield is related to serial number, wonder if anyone recognizes their Wagon? I can only make out a few of the numbers but sure mine is not there.

Any Idea which plant this was?

The only thing that would be better would be if it was in color.

The joys of living in the Great White North. I JUST got my September issue on Fruday. Should see October in time for Xmas.

Our Governments want to make sure that Terrorist aren't sneaking across our borders within those covers. You don't want a Terrorist Invader getting into Canada by mistake do you? Infidel !

Roger -

No, no idea where that shot was taken.

Al -

Really...you get your's THAT late..?
It's a (B&W) shot of a bunch of 54's sitting all over the inside of this particular room and a line of them on the way to receive their engines and front body pieces.
It's interesting, the main cab is on the chassis, but no engine, no rear axle, no front suspension...!?

Funny you make that statement.."just like drag racing"

I raced with a friend for about 8 years with his Comp. Elim. dragster (C/Econo). I soon found out I wasn't cut out for "real" drag racing. Wait in the pits for your round to be called, wait in the staging lanes for your class to be called....and in Comp. Elim.,.......there's a bazillion cars in that class....!

Too much waiting...lets just go get in line and run..!

I been Drag racing motorcycles since 1982. We have always been the red headed step children at a car event. Any excuse to make us wait. I still live by the old adage that good things come to those who wait! Although the patience seems to be getting harder to find the older I get.

That's about when I just got my Anglia running.
But initially, it was just a fun car, no real "racing". Just have fun going fast. Once in a while, when the car was running well and I was good at the lights, I'd hang around and run the brackets.
Then the "ProGas" class showed up (about the same time !) at Irwindale, Orange County and ol Big Willys track on Terminal Island, Palmdale.
Boy do I have a story about one day at Terminal Island...!!

Anyway, just the fun stuff was cool. Just get in line, sure, a little waiting, but with so many tracks within (average of 4) open at the same time, and all within about a 90 mile circle....the staging lane lines were never very long. Hit up one track on Saturday, then go to another on Sunday..
Note, Long Beach (Lions) was closed by the time my little car was running. But I made more than a few trips there to watch.

Great times they were..

PATIENCE ? PATIENTS ? I don't care how you spell it, if I wanted them I would have been a Doctor. Needless to say I don't have any.

The joys of being a Old Fart.....

What are we talking about ???

Drag Racing!

First time I went I won my class. Too long to wait to get Trophy. Second time I went, took another car. Came in 2ND. Too long to wait just to be a loser. Third time, didn't happen, instead I got a Sports Car went Road Racing and Rallies. Same problem, NO PATIENCE. "Get the hell out of my way !!"

Got a 4 wheel Drive Vehicle and went Off Road Racing. Decided I'm just not the best driver, but sure could give advise.
"Get the hell out of the way!"

Designed a few Off Road Courses,Tracks, and got in the Announcer's Booth and did commentary. "GOT the hell out of the way." Ha!!!
