Can I use the readily-available, low-cost, plastic window channel for the sliding glass ?
It is flexible (comes in a 25' roll) and will not rust.
The stainless-trimmed channel only comes in very-expensive 6' length.
The original rubber-trimmed channel has rusted completely away due to clogged drainage holes.
I think replacing the metal channel with the rust-proof plastic channel makes sense.
Unlike the door-window channel, it does not have to tightly support the glass,,, it simply keeps it from rattling.
New drainage slots will be drilled at each end of the channel.
Comments are appreciated.
