Conestoga outing

Postby Mike » 2005 Apr 03 Sun 2:48 pm

Hmmm......kinda quiet around here lately.

I took the Conestoga out to the Orphan Car Show, about 40 miles away yesterday (Sat.). It's first outing farther than about 5 miles since the axle installation.

The car got lotsa looks, and lotsa questions.
All of the work in installing the quick change rear axle and the four wheel disc brakes, it all worked flawlessly. No gas tank leaks....!!

The overdrive quit working..... There was lotsa RPM in that ol flat head six driving down the freeway. Can't wait to get the V-8 running.

Saw a few Stude freinds, overall....a nice outing.

Well, another few things done.

Gas sender working, muffler installed (!!!), new front tires (no whitewall).

Got a complete dash from a guy from e-bay. I was going to swap in the Commander gauge cluster and switch bar. Well....what to my surprise, you can't just swap gauges....
Good thing I got the whole dash board. It looks like an easy swap. I don't know if I got lucky or they are the same....but the width of the dash seems to be the same as the dash in the car. I assumed the C/K dash would be wider thAn the sedan dash. Now for clean and paint.
