That's about when I just got my Anglia running.
But initially, it was just a fun car, no real "racing". Just have fun going fast. Once in a while, when the car was running well and I was good at the lights, I'd hang around and run the brackets.
Then the "ProGas" class showed up (about the same time !) at Irwindale, Orange County and ol Big Willys track on Terminal Island, Palmdale.
Boy do I have a story about one day at Terminal Island...!!
Anyway, just the fun stuff was cool. Just get in line, sure, a little waiting, but with so many tracks within (average of 4) open at the same time, and all within about a 90 mile circle....the staging lane lines were never very long. Hit up one track on Saturday, then go to another on Sunday..
Note, Long Beach (Lions) was closed by the time my little car was running. But I made more than a few trips there to watch.
Great times they were..
