i've seen some wagon '56 back lights for sale, does anyone know if they will fit on a Conestoga '55 or has any one got any back lights and lenses and willing to ship to UK?

The rear lights from a 56 will "fit" on a 55, but they are not exactly the same thing. The 56 lights have an indent at the top where the bezel meets the body, that the 55 doesn't have. You probably would not be abel to see it from 20', but there is that subtile difference in apppearance. Also, the 56 would be a 12 volt instead of 6 volt so the wiring may be different, not sure on that one.

Thanks scot for the info ,my car is not a resto there is alot of parts missing and it will converted to 12v

You can also....VERY carefully, using a belt sander, trim some material off of the "long" portion of the housing, then use a small "U" shaped piece of trim rubber around the housing edge to disguise it....and...protect the paint while your at it..!
