In Aion 2, mounts and pets are part of one unified system. Every creature you unlock can serve as both a combat pet and a mount, giving you extra stats and mobility across your account. Whether you’re exploring Elysea, surviving Asmodian territory, or running endgame dungeons, mounts are more than just a speed boost—they’re a core part of your progression.

Full List of Mount Acquisition Methods

While Aion 2 currently has 173 mounts, most come from a few main channels:

1. Mob Soul Farming (Free & Most Common)

How it works: Almost any monster can become a mount. Collect 10 Souls to unlock it, 50 Souls to upgrade to Level 2, and 150 Souls for Level 3.

Benefits: Each level adds passive stat boosts to your character—even if you don’t ride that mount.

Pro Tip: Focus on monsters you already encounter during questing to farm Souls efficiently.

2. Main Story & Episode Quests

Rewards: Early-game mounts are given at key milestones to ensure you can move around quickly.

Why it matters: Great for beginners who need mobility to explore zones and complete quests faster.

3. Hidden Cubes

What they are: Scattered across the world, some cubes contain rare mounts.

Requirements: Keys are earned from achievements, journal quests, or event milestones.

Tip: Keep an eye out for Red Cubes—they’re harder to unlock but often drop the most unique mounts.

4. Black Cloud Merchant & Shugo Shop

How to use: These NPCs rotate their stock. You can spend Kinah to buy rare mounts.

Strategy: Check their inventory often; rare mounts appear unpredictably.

5. Arena & PvP Season Rewards

High-end mounts: PvP-focused mounts like flight-enabled “Wings” and title-specific rides are locked behind high ranks.

Tip: If you’re competitive in PvP, plan your mount collection around seasonal ranking goals.

6. Cash Shop

Instant access: Spend around $20 for premium, flashy mounts with high performance.

Consideration: These mounts are convenience-focused and don’t usually offer extra stat advantages beyond what free methods provide.

Key Tips for Mount Progression

Prioritize Movement Early

From Level 1–30, pick mounts that give speed boosts. Faster travel helps you finish zones and quests quickly, saving hours in the long run.

Farm While You Level

Combine Soul farming with questing. Target monsters that drop both mount Souls and valuable crafting materials. “Double reward” farming is the most efficient way to level and grow your mount collection at the same time.

Account-Wide Benefits

Once a mount is unlocked or upgraded on one character, the progress is typically shared across all your characters on that server. Focus on your main character first to power up your alts automatically.

Check the Source Tab

In the Pets menu, click on any creature and select the Source tab. This shows exactly where to farm its Souls or which merchant currently sells it—no guesswork required.

Dismount Risks

Be aware that taking damage or getting hit with crowd control effects (Stun, Fear, Sleep) can forcibly dismount you—sometimes 100% of the time. Always plan fights or PvP encounters accordingly.
